>Chocolate Pudding

>I purchased the book Deceptively Delicious in hopes that I could get Conner to eat some veggies.
The first thing I made was pudding. He LOVES all things chocolate (what can I say, he's my boy). When I put the avocado in the food processor, he said, "Parker food". I just let him think it was for Parker.








Ingredients

1/4 c. trans-fat free margarine spread
1 c. avocado puree
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 c. cornstarch



Directions
Melt margarine over low heat. Stir in avocado puree, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla. Cook, mashing well to smooth out lumps of avocado, until mixture thickens, 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat, gradually add cornstarch. Serve warm.

Number of Servings: 10

What was the result? My taste tester definitely approved! He even ate some more at dinner with his grilled cheese. Anytime I can get that fatty avocado in him, I will...even if it means hiding it in some chocolate pudding.







Oh wait-I know you want to know if I tried it right? I totally did and it tastes like delicious icing!

Some days I never get out of my jammies. I stay at home with my kids and I promise they don't care what I'm wearing.

I will shower and put new jammies on.

I nap when both kids do and I even bribe Conner to nap by saying he can sleep in my bed. Bad I know

I snuggle with my kids instead of cleaning. They are only this little one time.

My house looks like a bomb went off. eh, whatever. I have a 2 year old that goes behind me and pulls the same thing right back out. It's not dirty but there are toys everywhere.

I do not want my boys to get big and turn into teenagers or even kids on me. I love their ages right now.

I'm thrilled that I have boys and if I never have a girl that would be ok.

So What If...

>On Christmas, my brother-in-law's girlfriend took this picture of Parker and I. I knew I needed to lose some weight but this shows me that I do. I was not upset that she took the picture and pit it on FB (eek) for the world to see. My first thought was holy boobs but then I saw that belly. I promise I'm not pregnant. >Last week, Conner started coughing and had a mild fever. It really sounded "barky" so I called the pedi and off we went. They diagnosed him with croup and gave him a steriod dose and sent us on our way. By Christmas Day, his cough was so much worse and keeping his temp at a reasonable number was proving to be a trying task. The poor baby was on tyleonl and motrin around the clock; even so the fever was not getting below 101. Josh and I thought we would surely end up at Children's healthcare. Sunday, his fever broke! Monday, Parker started with a low grade fever and by last night, he had picked up the upper respiratory infection and the coughing and snot started for him. We went back to the pedi today...Both kids have an upper respiratory infection. Conner has a double ear infection and Parker has a single. We were granted the right for prescriptions! I was thrilled to hear that. Who wants kids that have ear infections but no meds for the infections.

So, that's what I've been up to...sleepless nights with 2 sick babies.

We did have a nice Christmas but I haven't even uploaded the images yet. I'll share those; I promise.

*I am thankful for good doctors.
*I am thankful for my hubby. He was up most of the night w/Conner and I.
*I am thankful for my brain. I like to think and be challenged.

>Once upon a time...

>Once upon a time, Parker slept. He would sleep 6 hours at a time and it was heavenly. I knew that I could put him to bed at 8 and he would sleep until 2, nurse and immediately go back to sleep until 6. Fast forward and he's 5 months old trying to go from tummy to sit and trying to crawl. How's he sleeping...like his brother. He is constantly awake and he doesn't want to eat but just be up. Part of it is teeth, his second tooth broke through yesterday, but the other part is a mystery. I'm so tired; I need rest. I need sleep. I've learned that once you have 2 children, napping with the baby is not possible because there are two of them. They rarely nap at the same time and they certainly do not go to bed at the same time. Conner would stay up all night if we let him. Parker likes to be asleep by 8. Hopefully, soon, he will start sleeping better again.

>We took the kids to Santa's House this weekend. Prior to this, we took Conner to Northern Tools b/c they had this amazing ride on back hoe. He loved it and of course, we bought it. We told Conner that he had to tell Santa that he wanted a tractor from him or he might not get one for Christmas. He agreed to talk to Santa so off we went. Let me explain; there is a couple that lives just down the street. Every year they start decorating in September (I asked Mrs. Clause) for the holidays. They do it up right too! You can tour their home, which is decked out, and visit Santa in his workshop. Conner was exhausted; he didn't nap but whatever. He refused to sit with Mrs. Clause and we talked and talked about how cool and nice Santa was just so he'd sit with him. Well, he didn't like sitting with Santa but he did tell him that he wanted a tractor and he told him it had to be a big yellow one! I was proud. Parker didn't care at all. Next year, he will though.

We decided that we'd make this a yearly tradition. It's much better than a mall Santa.
