>Lazy days

>The past few days have been super lazy around here, especially for me. My mom, sister and brother are here and they are definitely keeping Conner busy. It's great because I can relax and do whatever. It's been way too cold to go outside and play so getting creative indoors with a one year old is interesting. Thankfully just changing where we are seems to help. If he gets too fussy in the living room, we go upstairs or to the basement. He has LOTS of toys down there that he hasn't seen in a while. Of course the new Christmas toys have been keeping him busy too. I like him being busy because then I don't have to be his constant entertainment...how awful of me.

Being pregnant with a toddler (so far) isn't too bad. Sure I'm tired but that's nothing new. I haven't slept in 14mos anyway so really, there's no difference. I feel really great and wouldn't even know I was pregnant if I didn't know. Does that even make sense? I don't really have time to dwell on being pregnant; Conner keeps me super busy and on my toes. I am constantly running after him, and I mean running. He's fast and knows what he shouldn't be getting into. He's at a great age though; I'll definitely miss this stage of his life.

Here's the little man with my mom and sister. He loves to be upside down

10 weeks

See, I told you I look like I ate too many cookies.

This is what I looked like with Conner at 11w.

>Merry Christmas

>as usual....late. It makes me laugh but not b/c it's funny. I'm just so busy with Conner and when he goes to bed, I lay down. I'm exhausted. Josh had some family come into town on Wed and we've been going non-stop since. My family came into town yesterday. Conner has been eating up all of the attention and I think I'll have a rotten baby when they all leave. It's definitely more fun to celebrate Christmas with a little one; even if he really isn't interested in opening gifts. The only thing he liked opening was the stocking. I haven't even downloaded those pictures yet. oops.

We thought about spilling the beans to our extended family/friends but still haven't yet. I keep thinking that in ONE more week I will want to. In one week, I'll be 11w and maybe then I'll be ready to share. I want to get Conner a big brother t shirt to wear. I have found a few that I like and I just need to order one. How am I feeling? Actually, I feel GREAT. I was never sick with Conner; my nausea is virtually gone and I'm very thankful for that. If I were not so tired, I'd never even know I was pregnant. I DID find the heartbeat with my doppler yesterday and I forgot how much I love that sound. My jeans still fit; I'm just starting to look like I ate too many cookies...which I did.

Well, the coffee is ready and my kid wants his breakfast (and his sleeping dad; I'm going to have to get video of him standing at the gate yelling DAD). I'll give more details about Christmas in a different post.

>update

>Today was my ultrasound day. I was very nervous. I changed OBs b/c we moved and my old one is really just too far away. Anyway, I LOVE my new ob and their entire staff. Not only are they quick but they are super nice. I had my regular ob workup today which included the ultrasound. Everything looks perfect. The baby is measuring right where it should be and more importantly, the heart was beating! I was so relieved to see that. I didn't even ask what the heart rate was; I didn't care.

Looks like I will really be having a baby in July. :)

>Falling behind

>I seem to get better and better at falling behind with this blog. Conner keeps me very busy; sometimes I am so busy that I can't think straight. He's feeling much better and I'm very thankful; more than you know. Those of you with kids can imagine how my life was for a few days...whiney, cranky, clingy baby. I'm glad to have my happy little man back.

We haven't really been doing anything exciting. No playgroups, nothing. It's been rainy here and with Conner being sick, we just have been staying in. Over the weekend, we went shopping and got most of the Christmas stuff done. I still have a little more to get but overall we're done.

Conner has started sleeping a little better(and by better I mean he's sleeping 3-4 hours at a time). I'll take what I can get; baby steps, right?

My first ultrasound is Thursday. I'm anxious and very ready for it. I hope it's good news. If I said that I weren't nervous, I'd be lying. I'm terrified...really terrified.

>Strep Throat, really?

>Saturday, Conner woke up with a low grade fever and then it spiked so off to the pediatrician we went. The dr looked him over and decided that it was a really bad cold; treat the fever with motrin and keep him comfy. That's what I did. Fast forward to yesterday. He wasn't getting any better and he developed a rash. My first thought was roseola. I called the pedi and the OB. The OB told me that I needed to figure out exactly what was wrong with Conner b/c there are several things that cause rashes that are not safe for pregnant women and I may need to be treated too. We went back to the pedi. The nurse took one look at Conner's rash and immediately did a strep culture. She said that she was almost certain it was strep throat. Guess what? She was right. The dr came in, looked at his rash, checked his ears and throat and sent us home with an RX. He has been spending his time laying on me or crying. He has gotten a lot of use out of his binky. I figured that he doesn't feel well and if that helps, so be it!

Today he is feeling much better and I'm thrilled. I like my happy, independent baby.

>Weekend News

>What a weekend. Conner wound up being pretty sick. We were at the pediatrician by 10:30. He spiked a fever and I don't mess around with fevers. The dr said it was a really bad cold and found no infections. He said that the fever would last a few days and if he still had it by Tuesday to bring him back in. Well, today is Monday and the fever is almost gone. Thank God!

Yesterday, Conner and I stayed home and Josh went to get our Christmas tree. I was very happy when he got home. I thought that Conner would want his dad but I was wrong. Josh made dinner and even cleaned up. What a guy!

Sorry for the boring weekend post. Hopefully, next weekend will be much more exciting!

>well, what can I say?

>I made my blog private just so I could talk about this. About 3 weeks ago, I realized that my period was late, so I reluctattly got a home pregnancy test and peed on it. I was REALLY expecting it to be negative and was hoping I wasted 10 bucks. Boy was I wrong. That bad boy popped up positive SO fast. I shook and was freaking out. I didn't know if I should laugh or cry and I knew I didn't want to tell Josh yet; so I waited. I needed to be able to digest the information prior to telling Josh. The next day, I decided that i needed to tell him. He was absoutely thrilled...I not so much. I was still freaking out but after seeing him so giddy, I knew it was FINE.

I had an appointment with a new ob last week and I loved the office and staff. They confirmed my pregnancy, giving me a due date of July 25 and my first ultrasound is Dec. 17; that day can not come soon enough. I just want that to be over with. I'm nervous.

How am I feeling? I'm OK. I have waves of nausea and lots of cramping but I had both of those things with Conner. I'm tired but that comes with the territory. Who wouldn't be tired with a 13 month old and being pregnant.

It's good to get this out.

>Hello Blog....

>It's been a while but I have not forgotten about my blog. I promise. My laptop decided that it would freeze every time I tried to do anything on it. We went out of town for Thanksgiving. I got a new laptop so here I am.

Conner is napping, so I thought I'd do a little updating. We spent the Thanksgiving Holiday in Louisiana with my family. Conner totally loved all of the attention (and food) that came with that trip. On the way down there (yes, we're insane and drove) he did amazing!!! Josh and I were so impressed. By the time we came home, he hit his breaking point. We stopped at Wal-Mart and bought a DVD player and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I wanted Yo Gabba Gabba but they were all out. Anyway, that only lasted for about an hour. Have you ever driven 9 hours with a screaming one year old? Let me be the first to tell you that it SUCKS. I don't know when I'll be up for another drive like that. We were all very happy to get home and sleep in our own bed. There's nothing like your own bed. Last weekend, Josh put lights on the trees in the front of the house (which I totally love). He wouldn't get on the roof to put any around the house though. Maybe next year Conner can convince him to do that. Conner and I haven't really done much this week. It's been very rainy and gross outside.

Tonight, we are going to get our Christmas tree and tomorrow it will be all decorated. I'll post my weekend news on Monday for you guys to see it (if anyone still checks this forgotten blog).

I can't believe that Christmas is so soon. We have not started shopping at all. I did just buy myself a gift online though. I promised I would wait until Christmas to use them though. You'll have to wait until then to see what it is. I still need to take some pics for Christmas cards. I bought a cute Santa hat but Conner hates hats so it might take some coaxing (maybe a candy cane) to get him to wear it. I'm not above bribery!

Maybe I can convince Josh to start shopping....Have a great weekend everyone.

Here are a few pics..

>Weekend News

>What a gorgeous weekend. Saturday was really uneventful around here. Josh helped Rusty and Janice move but it was SO nice that Conner and I couldn't not take advantage of the weather. We played outside and went to the park. Saturday night, we stayed in for dinner and watched a movie. Josh was pretty tired after the move. I imagine that climbing 4 flights of stairs repeatedly will do that to a guy. Sunday, we woke up bright and early (thanks to our little alarm clock Conner). We had breakfast at Waffle House. We thought that Conner would nap but he had other plans so we got in the car and headed toYellow River Game Ranch. Conner loved chasing the ducks, chickens, roosters and peacocks. He really didn't like when the animals took the food from him. He'd scream "mine" at them. How hilarious! He really hated when the squirrel would take the peanut. He would yell and chase it! He loved seeing all of the animals. Guess what? He barely slept all day or night. What is THAT?! Only my child. Ha!

>A boy and his dog

>If you don't already know, Conner and Harley love one another. If we go outside and the other isn't with us, it's not pretty. Conner LOVES to watch Harley run around in circles and I honestly think the only reason Harley runs in those circles is to make Conner laugh. It's a vicious cycle and I love to watch it.

Today, we went out to play and Harley was outside. He was in the back yard and we were in the front. Immediately, I heard whining and Conner took off! He headed straight for the gate.

Off to the gate

What's under there?

I think it's Harley

Oh look at that dog!

>Thankful Thursday...and it IS Thursday!

>Wow! I remembered!

Today I am thankful for

*Biscuits and butter. Conner just gobbled them up.
*Nice Fall weather. We love to play outside.
*My microfiber mop. It does wonders on the hardwood floors.
*Naptime. I love the quiet.
*Candles. Conner walks around "sniffing" the candles. Hilarious!

What are you thankful for?

>12 month appt

>Yesterday, we had Conner's 12mo appt. I really wasn't too concerned about it; he meets all of his milestones early and is a great eater. Well, the dr is concerned. He weighs 18lbs 8oz and is 28 3/4 in long. His iron is still low. She isn't really concerned about his height but really his weight. He went from 35% to 15% to now 3%; yes 3. there are so many emotions I feel about this. Part of me feels like I am failing. Why is he so little? Am I doing something wrong? What should I be feeding him so that he weighs more? The other part of me feels like nothing is wrong. He's my perfect little man. Sure, he's little but look at Josh and I. Neither of us are big people. We were both skinny, tiny little kids. Maybe it's genetic and that's all there is to it. BUT then there is the iron situation. At 9 mos his iron was 8.5; now it's 10 and they want it to be 11. Is there something wrong with him that is causing him to not absorb iron and therefore he isn't gaining weight like he should? I don't know, the dr doesn't know. All I know is that I have to try to fatten him up with in the next 6 weeks. We go back for a weight/iron check then.

Speaking of fattening him up...he is funny about food. Yes, he is a great eater. He always eats all of his veggies and fruit. He loves chicken and yogurt(soy). He will eat potatoes but doesn't love them; he loves beans. Last night I tried to give him ground beef (which he has had before) and he refused; he won't touch eggs. This morning, he fed his pancakes to Harley. He can't have dairy and I think that hurts us in terms of calories/fat. All I can do is keep trying.

>Weekend News

>What a weekend! We were SO busy! Friday, we didn't do too much but Saturday we were busy. It was Halloween! We carved pumpkins, Conner dressed up and we took him trick-or-treating! He loved being able to walk down the street with the other kids and thought he was SOMETHING! It was the most hilarious thing I've ever seen; not to mention the cutest thing! He was the cutest puppy ever. Sunday we had a family day that consisted of Waffle House, playing outside, grocery shopping grilling out.

Josh left Sunday during Conner's nap to go for a bike ride. He came home with a new jacket and a receipt for a new armoire for our bedroom. He brought it home today and I love it. It was a great surprise!
