More awesome than awful.

That's been me all day. Conner has kept me on my tippy tippy toes today. The morning started out awesome! I got my run in, Parker napped, Conner ate...triple win for this mama! Then the tornado Conner struck. I'll just give you the run down and then the ultimate funny story.

1. He took all of the diapers out of the plastic sleeve and threw them on the floor in the guest room. Why? He needed a bag for his tractors. As I was cleaning that up...

2. I hear a chair dragging across the kitchen floor. I yell for him to put the chair back. No response...uh oh, that's not good. I had to get the diapers cleaned up b/c my little goat Parker was trying to eat them, I decide not to neatly do anything and just to throw them in the box. I know you're wondering what Conner was doing. Well, he was at the sink with 2 cups, one glass and he was filling them up with water. I have NO idea what his plans were but...I put him on the floor and took the chair away. He screamed.

3. He gets really quiet again...He was in the guest bathroom playing with...wait for it...self tanner and my makeup. oy.

4. I'm trying to get Parker down for his nap...Conner told me he needed to pee pee so I took him and then I walked out of the bathroom. He normally follows me but today is not a normal day. After I get Parker in his crib, I checked on Conner. He had gotten my dry shampoo out of the drawer in there (it's basically powder), unscrewed the lid and poured it not only in the drawer but all over the floor and his little potty. The best part...he had hair spray and he was spraying it into his hand and wiping his butt. I'm honestly, still laughing at that. I made him help me clean it up and explained to him what the spray stuff was. I got him cleaned up and now both kids are napping.

This mama might need some wine tonight!

It's more awesome than awful though so I'll take it.

Defeat and the Oscars

Today, I was defeated by a hill. Yep, a hill. There is this one hill in my neighborhood that always wins when I'm running. Today, I decided that I would slow my pace down and beat this hill. I was almost to the top and it won. I couldn't run anymore. I walked to the top and ran again. Then the kids defeated me. Conner started saying, "go home, out of stroller". Parker started screaming. Let me just say that two kids fussing at you makes you run just a little faster so that you can get them out of the stroller and remedy the issue. I don't think I would have ran 2.5 miles in 24 minutes had the kids been happy. Maybe I won afterall?!

How was your weekend? Did you watch the Oscars? The only reason I got to watch it is because we were at my ILs and my FIL likes it. Josh hates it.
Anne Hathaway looked fab

I hated this look on Cate.

I didn't love this on Mila either but I didn't hate it. I will say that I think her makeup looked fantastic.

Reese...she just does no wrong. FAB

I do not know what Melissa Leo was thinking...To ME, that looks like a doiley with gold foil under it.

One word...ICK

There's more I could say but I've gotta shower before the little one is up. Happy Monday!

Doh

I had a whole blog post written in my head. I forgot what it was! haha! Momnesia at it's finest. Instead, I'll just ramble.

Yesterday, I had my sitter come over so I could clean and get some stuff done without having to worry about the kids. It was great. parker napped, she took Conner outside and I got a lot done. My closet is even cleaned out...bye bye maternity clothes. They are happily packed away in the attic. The best part about having her here was not only that I didn't have to worry about my kiddos but that I got to go for a run all.by.myself. That's right, no stroller. I haven't run outside without the stroller since before I had Conner. That stroller sure makes a run a lot harder. I never really realized it. It was a great run.

Speaking of running, I clocked how far my normal route is...2.5 miles. I was really hoping it was closer to 3. I get frustrated b/c I can't run very long distances just yet. I know that's normal but I get impatient. It's completely unrealistic for me to think that after not running for a year that I'd be able to just pick up where I left off and get through 3.5-4 miles almost effortlessly. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Conner has always called me "mama". Forever...well, it started as MA and he sounded like a little goat. Last night, he started saying MOMMY. While I love being mommy, I hate that it just means he's getting older/bigger and needs to graduate from saying "mama". It's like when Parker was brand new, he was just "Par" to Conner and now he's "parter". Excitingly devastating.

The weather is crappy today. It's not raining yet but it will. I'm thinking it might be a gym day (puke). I hate the gym. I feel so dirty when I leave there and I can't imagine the germs that my kids come in contact with. gross. Conner said that he wants to go to the gym instead of riding in the stroller...that means treadmill for me. gross. again. I'm going to try for 3 miles today though. Will those still count if I have to walk a little bit?

Speaking of strollers, BOB has a recall. Get the info here.

What are you looking forward to today or just saying PUKE to?

Best Sound Ev-ah

Conner has been making Parker laugh so much lately. Everytime, I go to video the event, they stop what they are doing...until today. Normally when Parker sees me, he loses it and cries.

So What Wednesday

It's Wednesday, people!
I'm saying SO WHAT to...

*I didn't run yesterday and I still ate M&ms and had wine.
*I have a sitter coming today so I can clean in peace and run alone.
*I drink coffee every.single.day. I don't care if it's 90 degrees, I still want my coffee.
*Parker ate sand yesterday and I think he liked it.
*I took my laptop outside w/the kids yesterday b/c I had work to do. Everyone won.

What are you saying so what to? Link up on Shannon's Blog

Did you hear?!

Jennifer Anniston has a new do, and I love, love, love it.

love it or hate it?

Recycling expensive clothes

A million years ago Before I was a mom, I played tennis. I LOVED tennis. I spent a small fortune on all of those adorable skirts/outfits. It was awesome. Fast forward a few years...now those adorable clothes just sit in the dresser in the guest room. Yeah, that's how important they are these days. Devastating. I know. Anyway, as you know I have started running again and it feels GREAT! I forgot how much I enjoy it. I've decided to dust the moths off of my tennis clothes and wear them to run. I was actually pleased at how they hid my fat fit. To make it even better, tennis clothes are super comfy to run in too. I'm just trying to be thrift too. I want new running clothes and I figured I just take out some old stuff and reuse it for what works for me now! Viola! Don't look at the mess of a house I have...those kids. :)

How was your weekend?

Ours started out rough. I'm going to start with Friday. Friday was a really, really bad day for me. Conner had horrible behavior and Parker cried a lot because he wanted to be held. Conner never napped and I was done. Absoutely exhuasted and done. Josh got home early because we went to the circus. Thankfully, the ride down to Atlanta was good; Parker slept and Conner just vegged out in his seat and watched his little tv.  The circus was fun...more on that later though. The ride home...dreadful. Parker screamed for 45 minutes and Conner joined him the last 10 or so. It was after 11 when we got home and both kids (me too) were wiped out. We got the kids to bed and we joined them.

Saturday, Josh worked. Shocking, I know. I had a great day though. I had a photoshoot so I dropped the kiddos off with my mother in law, stopped by chic-fil-a for some deish half sweet tea half lemonade and off I went. The session went well and I really like this couple and their baby.  After I picked up the kids, we came home. I tried to get Conner to nap while Parker napped but he was not having it at all. I decided to just say whatever and loaded them into the stroller. While I was out running, I met another running mom! Her name is Sara and she has an adorable 8 mo old baby girl. We exchaged numbers and we went running today too! AWESOME!

Sunday we didn't do too much. We went to BJ's for a few things and wound up with much more than a few items. Isn't that how it always works at a wholesale place? We went to my ILs afterward for dinner. Nothing too exciting.

How was your weekend; hopefully more exciting than mine!

Need vs Want

There are always things that people need (food, shelter, sound mind, love) and then there are things that people want (stuff, more money, nicer this and nicer that).  Sometimes the needs are scary and the wants don't want to. After my appt last week with my PCP, I left feeling a little dissatisfied. Yes, she (sort-of) addressed my issues by doubling my dosage of medication. However, I feel like she didn't really address it. I was talking to a dear friend yesterday and she told me what I NEEDED but didn't want to hear. She said, " you need a psychiatrist. You need to call one first thing in the morning so that you can start to feel better". Here's where the want comes in to play. Did I want to call a psych and admit that I need one, heck no. Guess what, I did. I got on my insurance website and found one that does medication management and I took a deep breath, gulped down a knot in my throat (the one that consists of pride), and dialed the number. The receptionist was super nice and told me that the Dr she works with specializes in medication management. She took my insurance information to verify my coverage and told me that she will be able to get in me (probably) March 4.  As soon as my coverage is verified, she will call me back to schedule the appt. I won't lie, I'm nervous and am shaking. I'm terrified to do this but I'm more terrified that I will never feel better. It's not fair to my kids or my husband and I NEED and WANT to feel better. Right now, though, I could just throw up. They say that it's baby steps, but in this case, that was a giant one.
