>First Ultrasound today!

>I have been emailing back and forth with my doctor about my cramping. One of the OB nurses called me today to see if I was still having some cramping. I told them yes and they got me in for an ultrasound. I'm so in love with my little grain of rice. I got to see the heartbeat and hear it. The heartbeat is measuring wonderfully at 141 beats per minute, which is good. When the technician turned on the sound I immediately started crying. It was so amazing. Here's a sneak peak for your viewing pleasure. The brighter center on the second on is the heart just beating away.

>Still Terrified...

>I'm 6w3d pregnant. I'm so beyond terrified. I am trying so hard to relax and just breathe. I find myself holding my breath. I have severe cramping at least 3 days each week. It gets so bad that I start to freak out and worry. On a good note, I am still so very exhausted and never have my boobs hurt like this.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday. The first thing MIL said to me was "Are you pregnant?" I immediately told her no. I don't know if I said it too fast or not, but NO just came flying out of my mouth. I feel bad about lying, but I'm just not ready to share...Fast forward a few hours. My BIL found a very small turtle and when I went to touch it, DH freaked out and told me NOT to touch it. Well, my brother caught on to that and later asked why DH was so concerned with me touching the turtle. DH told. I am not happy about that; I'm just not ready. He said that he just didn't want to lie about it.

My ultrasound is in 2 weeks. I'm excited and yet terrified and extremely hopeful. I'm hopeful that this time will not be like last time. I'm hopeful that in November, I will be a mommie.

>First Appointment

>Today was my first appointment. I was a nervous wreck and really don't have any reasons to be. My blood pressure was high, so I have to get my nerves in check. Anyway, my cervix was closed and my midwife told me that my BHCG levels were great! She also said that everything looks and feels like it should. I go back in one week for a bunch of bloodwork. She even hinted that I may get an ultrasound around 6 weeks or so; I'd be so thrilled.
I;m exhausted, my boobs hurt and every now and again, I get a huge bout of nausea. I'll take all of the above.

In other news, the contracts at work are due and DH really does not want me driving to the "ghetto" everyday anymore. The problem? Well, if I stay I can get FMLA (12 weeks off) and if I go, I'd probably only get 6. We are going to have to have a serious conversation about this.

I'm so thrilled about the changes right now. My heart if full of hope!

>2nd betas back!

>Not only did my numbers double, but they more than doubled. My midwife sent me a message and said that my numbers are progressing just as they should in a healthy normal pregnancy!! She made my Monday.

I have my first appt tomorrow! I'm so excited!!!

Here are some things that I am certain will get me through...

--"Today I am pregnant and I love my baby."
--"I am pregnant until someone tells me otherwise."
--"My past does not dictate my future. A previous m/c does not mean I will have another m/c."
--"Just because something sad is happening to another poster, does not mean it will happen to you." We all know m/c and complications are not contagious!
-- "Hope does not make bad things happen" You cannot ‘jinx’ your pregnancy by creating a ticker, getting excited, or telling someone. Live in the positive!
--And this is the hardest one: "There is nothing I can do to prevent a m/c from happening. Worrying yourself sick doesn't prevent a m/c. And if (gods forbid) it were to happen again, I know I will survive."
