>Model Child

>Today I had my 12 week scan! It was great! The baby was wiggling all over and so cute. I saw arms and legs, the brain and of course that beautiful heart beat! The technician was getting all of her measurements and the baby is measuring 5 days ahead!!!! She also said that I have the model child! It was so very exciting! I will see the baby again at 17ish weeks. Until then, the doppler will have to just do! I think it has my nose and of course DH thinks it has his nose.

>I just look fat

>For proof that I just look fat...
Photobucket

I've only gained 2 pounds. Nothing fits...if it does it just looks horrible. I'm ready for a baby bump and not just looking fat.

We told our parents last weekend. Of course MIL said that she KNEW it. Whatever. She kept trying to tell me that I was 10 days not 10 weeks. I guess she knows now that it was 10 weeks.

I can't believe that I am 11 weeks pregnant. I know it's not THAT far along, but it sure makes me feel better. As each day goes on, I feel better and better about this pregnancy. I woke up today with no sign of nausea, which is really nice. I'm actually hungry.

My appt is Wednesday. I'll update more after that.

>One pound.

>I'm 9w1d today and it feels great. I've only gained one pound, although the bloat on my tummy would try to argue that. The longer I go, the better I feel about this pregnancy. Of course we still have not told any family members or friends. I tried to tell a very close friend the other day. We were at the nail salon and in walked this very cute pregnant girl. I almost said, "that will be me in a few months". I just couldn't get the words out. I've been trying to tell people for a few weeks; I don't know what my problem is. Hopefully, that will go away and I can comfortably tell people. I refuse to tell anyone until I'm fully comfortable.

My FIL called me on Thursday. We had a very strange conversation. I hate how nosey he and MIL really are. When I'm ready to tell them anything, they will know. Anyway, the coversation was brief. He started it by asking me what MY doctor said. First of all, DH told them HE had an appt. I just played it off like I did not know what he was talking about. I was like, well, I had a chiropractor appt and I got my hair cut (which, by the way is very cute). He said that MIL told him that there was NO way that DH had a dr. appt. He wanted to know if I was giving him a grandchild or getting fertilty. WTF? When did our TTC adventure become any part of thier business? I told him that I was not desperate enough for fertility and that they needed to stop thinking so much before they hurt themselves....Fast forward about an hour....MIL calls. She is out of town. She wants to know what's new. I was like, nothing. I'm just making dinner. Nothing's new. Really, nothing IS new. I've known for over a month that I'm pregnant. I wish they would just back off and let me do this my way.

Now, DH wants to tell. I told him NO! He agreed that when I'm ready we will tell. He just hates lying to people. I told him to get over it. I'm sure my IL's won't be very happy that we waited so long to tell them. Honestly, I don't care. I don't have any desire to tell them, especially after MIL said the most hurtful things to me when I had my miscarriage.

I bought a home doppler to listen to little peanut. Finding the heartbeat is definitly the highlight of my day. There is no better sound than hearing what sounds like a choo-choo train. It always makes me immediately smile. It's so amazing for me to think about what my body is doing right now. There is a real LIVE person in there. Although it's the size of an olive, it has arms and legs and they wiggle. I'm in awe of this whole process. It is such an amazing miracle.

My next ultrasound (NT scan) is on the 30th. I can't wait to see my little peanut again! We will tell after that.

>8w4d...and another ultrasound

>It sure is amazing how those little peanuts grow in such a short time. Today I had my second ultrasound. When the u/s tech told me 2 minutes and she would be ready, I got really nervous. DH got nervous too after the u/s started. At first the probe was not angled right to see the flicker of the heartbeat. She immediately turned the sound on and we got to hear it. 173bpm. The baby was so cute. He/she was standing on it's head and moving all over the place. The little arms were moving. We are both very relieved. My next appt is in 4 weeks and we will just hear it with the doppler. My NT scan is on the 30th, so I'll get to see little peanut again soon!! Pics are for your viewing pleasure. I scanned the pics upside down so that they are easier to look at. Silly little guy wouldn't get off of his head.

>Pieces of my mind...

>So far so good. My sypmtoms are in full swing. I threw up 4 times yesterday. It was hysterically funny and awful at the same time. I'd puke and then giggle. My boobs are killing me, the nausea is constant. It literally lasts all day. I'm beyond exhausted, but I don't sleep well and I don't really understand that!

Today I felt great. My nausea was not that bad at all. I did not throw up. I've been eating like a piggy for the last hour though. When I finished my popcorn, I decided that I needed ice cream too. Off I went to the freezer. It was delish!

My next appointment and ultrasound is on Tuesday. I'm anxious but not nervous...not nervous yet. My prayer is that this heart inside of me keeps beating and that my baby keeps growing. I don't care how sick it makes me, I just want a healthy baby.

In other news, I was give my tentative placement for next year. I currently teach 5th grade boys. My principal has decided to move to me 4th grade girls. It's the exact counter opposite of what I wanted. I wanted to stay in 5th with the boys. Fourth grade is fine, but I really prefer to teach all boys.

I don't have much more to say. After my appt, I'll update again.
