Mini-Vacation

A few weeks ago, my in-laws decided to take a very last minute trip to Panama City. They wanted to bring the boat and go snorkeling bay side on Shell Island. They invited us and we said YES. I always, always, always have (in my head) the idea that vacation will be SO fun and no work. It's always the opposite of that but at the end of the day we get some together time and the kids enjoy themselves.

Each day, we'd head out of the bay toward Shell Island, find a 'good spot' and beach that boat. Conner learned to snorkel and we found lots of hermit crabs. Tyler LOVES the water. I just wish we would have had one full beach day, instead of bay days but it was still a get away and for that I'm thankful.

We even found some time one night for an amusement park! We got rained on but that's just part of the fun! I have NO idea why Parker was frowning, he was in LOVE with the rides.

Back at it.

Today, thanks to my friend Leigh, I decided that it's time. It's time for me to exercise again. It's time for a healthy outlet and to stop stress eating! So, I put Tyler down for his afternoon nap, told the big 2 to go in the back yard and I turned Jillian on the tv. She's a biatch but I love/hate her. I couldn't remember what I had on my amazon instant video (we got rid of dvds a while ago) and I had ripped in 30 and 6 week 6 pack. Since my abs are ruined (hello, they were CUT), I decided I'd go for 6week 6 pack. Let me say that it was hard. I had to do burpies and mountain climbers and at one point, I was modifying an exercise when Conner came in and told me I was doing it wrong! I'm out.of.shape. It was fun. I loved it and I'll be working out tomorrow too. I don't know about a 6 pack in 6 weeks but I'll certainly feel better.

If you're wondering about the boys during my half hour workout...well, they were busy catching spiders and frogs. They even made a 'pool' for this frog. I made them let the poor thing go. I'm so afraid they will kill a frog. Spiders...they can kill those but not a little frog!

Typicality

Most days, we stay home. I mean, let's face it getting 3 kids under 5 out the door is no small feat and they LOVE to be outside anyway and we have outside so...we stay here. Sometimes we have friends come over. Either way, the boys are typically very happy being here and outside in the backyard. They are growing up SO fast and I have got to make time to blog. Who needs candy crush? I'll blog instead, even though candy crush is basically mindless and to blog I have to think. I'll try harder. Anyway, I digress. Some of our outdoor adventures are silly and others we just hang out w/one another.

Sometimes we play in the pool (yes, that's a frog friend that I had to trick them into letting go. I was afraid for his life) or the bounce house. We always have fun. They love each other and (for now) the big two are best friends. Sure they fight but they also play and teach each other new things every day.

He's SUPER

Parker has a new, recent love for super heros. He can 'fly' and he's 'super. The other night, he wore Conner's Superman jammies and (forgot his pants) went outside to be super. He's too much. I love this silly child.

He's got the moves!

Four Months

Today was Tyler's 4 month appt. I, honestly, have NO clue how he is 4 months old already. He is and time is flying by. At four months he can....roll over both ways, grab toys, he laughs and talks. He can tripod sit and likes to be upright so that he can look around. He still loves his swing (thank God) and loves the bumbo seat. He's wearing 6mo clothes. He weighs 13lbs 15oz and is 24.5 in long. He's in the 20% across the board. Everyone keeps saying that Tyler is SO much bigger than all of my other kids but he isn't. Parker was bigger and I have proof! Tyler is such a happy baby; he smiles all the time and very much just goes with the flow. I really need to get some new pictures...maybe once it stops raining.

Summertime

One of my favorite things about summer is lightning bugs. As a child, my siblings and I used to wait until dusk and run around like crazy people to catch these little bugs. We'd put them in a jar and watch them light up. SO fun. I want those same memories for my boys. Last night, I took Conner and Parker outside at 9pm and let them run around like crazy people trying to catch them. It brought back memories for me; more importantly, it's starting memories for them.
I totally love that they are BFFs. next summer, there will be three little boys chasing those fun little bugs. My heart is full.
