>Colds and cold

>We all have really bad colds. Conner started all of it and he has generously shared his germs with both Josh and I. Don't get me wrong, I love that he is sharing but really, a cold? It's a doozie too; stuffy nose, cough, headaches, sore throat. The works! Speaking of cold...it's COLD here. I know, for my northern friends, it's not that cold but it really IS. The past few days have been gorgeous but super windy. That wind just takes my breath away. So, we've been basically inside. Thankfully, Conner doesn't really seem to mind. He's been keeping himself busy by chasing Harley and reading books. He is turning into quite the little book worm (yay!). His favorite way to read them is upside down. He will bring Josh and I multiple books to read and it's the cutest, sweetest thing ever.

He says 14 words and I'm going to try to remember all of them...

1. Hey
2. Dog
3. Har
4. Dad
5. Mine
6. Mom
7. that
8. This
9. Duck
10. all done
11. night night
12. uh uh (for no)
13. noodle
14. Balloon (a-noon)

The new baby is behaving him/herself. I've been feeling really great; other than the fact that I'm tired but I was tired before. You try dealing w/a non-sleeping toddler while pregnant and then tell me how tire you are! It's exhausting and by the end of the day, I'm wiped completely out. I've gained 2.5 pounds and it's probably becuase I've been craving cheese (something I haven't eaten in over a year). I've been eating it and loving it. I try to keep the cheese consumption to a minimum. I can't and won't eat any pork at all. I discovered this last night when I made dinner. Josh loved it; I thought the pork chops stunk and therefore refused to eat it. GROSS. I do need to make an effort to drink more water but there's a problem there. Everytime I fix my water bottle, Conner steals it and literally drinks it up. It's a constant battle for the water. At least we know that he's staying hydrated! My belly is growing, so that's good!

>Kick, Kick

>For the past week or so, I have *thought* that I was feeling some little kicks. BUT with Conner driving me crazy keeping me busy, I didn't really have time to sit and focus on whether or not I was in fact feeling something. The past two days or so, it's been clear. This baby is moving! I forgot how cool the kicks are. I can't wait until Josh can feel them. He's already asking how much longer he will have to wait.

In other news, we all have a cold. It's nasty; snotty nose, sore throat, headaches. It's definitely not fun and it's been keeping Conner up (which means I'm up too) at night. Hopefully, it doesn't stick around too long.

>Movin' up

>Lately, Conner has not wanted to sit down to eat. I choose my battles and there are some foods that I don't make him get in his high chair to eat. Maybe it's a bad habit, but I have to get the kid to eat; isn't that the goal? Anyway, today at lunch time he decided that he was NOT getting in that chair with the tray so I pulled the chair up to the table. Brilliant! He LOVED it. He ate his entire PB&J sandwhich, a few cheerios and drank his milk. Then he played with a puzzle. Happy kid, see?

>really, 13w?

>You read that right, 13w is already here. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going by. On Friday, I had an ultrasound. I had to take Conner with me...alone. Let me just say that it was not easy at all. I did not get to even see the baby on the screen because I was wrestling with my one year old. Well, not really wrestling but trying to keep him completely entertained while laying (almsot) flat on my back. I did get to see the little bug when the tech gave me the pictures. If I weren't so lazy, I'd go down to the basement and scan them, but I am. Instead of seeing what he/she may look like, you just get to look at my belly. I'm still wearing my regualr jeans and I have gained 0 pounds. Don't ask me how because I really don't know. My belly is definitely bigger though. I think I'll need my maternity clothes in a few weeks, don't you?

>Haircuts

>Today, I took Conner for his first official haircut. I have trimmed the back and around his ears before, but I decided that it needed to be done by someone that actually knows what they are doing. Can I just say that he totally looks like a little boy now and while it's sad, it makes me laugh too. I did give him a dum dum to keep him occupied during the haircut. I think I'm that mom.
