>"A Word From Us Kids"
>I had Arthur on (for background noise) today and in the middle of the show, they do a segment called "A Word From Us Kids" or something like that. Today the kids were talking about fairy tales. Obviously, they had a wonderful teacher. They got to act out the fairy tale. Before they could, each group voted and nominated a director, wrote a script and then assigned character parts. Then the teacher recorded their "plays". This reminded me of myself; not as a student but as a teacher. I LOVED for my kids to act things out. They always did an amazing job. I was always highly entertained and so, so proud. Once we acted out Sherman and his troops burning Atlanta. They acted out scenes in their books; we acted out verbs. We did a lot of reenactment during Social Studies. I found that they retained the information a lot better if they "owned" it. That little segment put tears in my eyes. I sure loved my job. I miss it...but not enough to leave Conner with someone else for me to tend to someone's child. (if that even makes sense)

>Well, it's not really that good. Evidently, he now has a collapsed lung and there is more fluid on his lung. He has congestive heart failure (thankfully, he has a pacemaker). He was supposed to be released yesterday but with the additional fluid on his lungs the doctors recommended that he have an echo-cardiogram done. I haven't heard the results of that yet.
Josh's dad (he's in CA) called last night and left us a message. His grandma Ross was also hospitalized. He didn't go into details but she hasn't been doing well either. I think we need to make a trip out west to go see them. I know they'd LOVE to meet Conner and if you ask me, babies always make you feel better.

>As much as I complain about Harley, we totally love him. He's great amazing with Conner. Conner climbs on him. He pulls his mouth, pulls his hair and treats his ears like they are detached from his head. Conner laughs and laughs and laughs. It's the cutest thing ever. I'm very thankful for a patient laid back dog, even if he does run away (I had to CHASE him today while C was napping).

>Katie turned 23 (man I'm getting OLD) on Sunday and I didn't even acknowledge her here but I am now! While she was here (for 24 short hours), Conner finger painted (and ate the paint) a picture just for her birthday. She loved it and the mess he made. I don't think I saw her laugh that hard...EVER.
Josh's grandpa is pretty sick and hospitalized, so we were/are dealing with that. I wish I had something great to report but I just don't. Keep Gramps in your prayers.
