turtle and the boy

Friday, Josh found a turtle at his jobsite. It was not a water turtle but a mud one so he scoopped it up to bring home and show Conner.

Conner was not too sure of this creature. He wanted to hold it but quickly asked Josh to hold it.

After a few minutes, Conner warmed up to the turtle.

He showed the turtle his rake. He did not understand why the turtle retreated to his shell; although he got a kick out of that!

He even tried to get the turtle to play tractors with him.

He was very intrigued. I certainly enjoyed watching him discover something new.

We left the little turtle in the baby pool and when we went back out later, he was gone. I guess he "escaped".

>Muffins

>Today, we made muffins. I let Conner do most of the "work". It was easy enough...it was muffins from a pouch!

pour the dry stuff

add the wet stuff

stir, stir

just a quick lick

now for the pan

All done!

>Update on me

>Today I had my 6 week postpartum appointment. I brought Parker with me so that Dr. Lawrence could see him; I know that they love to see the babies they care for over a 9 month span and they really love to see the babies they deliver. They gushed over Parker and he smiled at all of the nurses there. What a ham!

Dr. Lawrence asked me how I was doing and I was very honest. I told her that I'm very overwhelmed 95% of my day. I told her that I go from absolutely fine to annoyed and angry very quickly over really petty and stupid things. I do not have thoughts of harming myself or anyone else. I just think that 2 babies is a LOT; it's overwhelming to maintain everything, deal with no sleep because TWO kids are up multiple times and they are both really just babies. She recommended that I take a low dose anti-depressant to help me take the edge off. she said that they will help "even me out". SO, I agreed to the medication. We'll see how I feel in a few weeks. We discussed birth control options. Lord knows I don't want another one any time soon...if ever. I am going to get the mirena in 6 weeks (if I don't chicken out). Until then, I'm on the mini-pill so that I can continue to breast feed Parker. All in all a good appointment and I really love my OB.

>Favorite Things

>Conner's favorite things (aside from suckers because, really what almost 2 year old doesn't like a dum dum?)
First and foremost, he LOVES and I mean LOVES tractors. Actually, I don't know that love is a strong enough word. He has lots of toy tractors and loves to watch the real ones.

His second love...his water table and pool.

His third love is the water hose.

His favorite person...it's hard. He adores Parker and when Josh is home, he's all about Daddy and sometimes, he even likes his mama!
(thank you Victoria, for that mommy and me picture. I treasure them)
