>Conner is a lot of things. He is curious, he is funny, he has great hand/eye coordination, he is talkative, he is shy, he is relentless. He is also SILLY.


He LOVES peanut butter. If I give him peanut butter crackers, he licks the peanut butter off of the crackers. He does the same thing with nutter butters. Seriously, who doesn't eat the cookies...oh my kid. His favorite way to eat peanut butter is out of a bowl with a spoon. He loves it more than anything...well almost anything. His binky is still his most favorite thing ever.


He's a really good helper. My mom has been making blankets for lots and lots of people (Conner, Parker, Ryleigh). Over the past few weeks, Conner has been observing her crotchet. He's very interested in it and he's also very curious to see how that works. This morning, he climbed up onto Gigi's lap to "help" her crotchet. I think he did a great job.



He also LOVES to vacuum. He thinks that he's big and all grown up. If he makes a mess, he grabs his little toy vacuum but when Gigi gives him the chance, he helps her use the real one to clean the rug.

>I've been so excited about this week's black and white Wednesday! I'm linking up toThe Long Road to China once again. Conner was in one of his moods the other day (he was tired and I was stretching out his play time) so I pulled out this old trunk and asked him if he could climb on it. Of course, my little monkey was all over that! When I showed him that it actually opened; his little face lit up (not that you can tell because of his binky but whatever). I had my camera out, because let's face it, it's always out. I was thrilled to get this one shot out of him before he decided that he wanted "out, out" of the trunk. It's definitely my new favorite picture.

I've been so excited about this week's black and white Wednesday! I'm linking up toThe Long Road to China once again. Conner was in one of his moods the other day (he was tired and I was stretching out his play time) so I pulled out this old trunk and asked him if he could climb on it. >38 week appt update.

>At this point in my pregnancy for Conner I was no longer pregnant. I had a sweet little 6 day old baby. For this pregnancy, well, I'm still pregnant. I had my 38w appt today. I LOST 3 pounds (fine with me); my BP was elevated but no protein in my urine. Dr. Rush checked me and get this...Parker moved UP. He's no longer low and almost engaged. My cervix is firm and I'm dilated to a 1...no change at all in TWO weeks. I guess that means all of these contractions mean nothing. How frustrating. Dr. Rush and I discussed induction and he said that if my cervix was still this way next week, he would not agree to an induction because he does not want to force my body into doing something that it's not ready for. He's not a big advocate of elective inductions that could possibly lead to a cesarean. I'm happy about that b/c I don't want to be induced if my body isn't ready and would have a hard time with it. I don't want to have a cesarean unless it's medically necessary. I've always felt that way and even though I'm ready to have this baby, I don't want to force anything.

When I got home, I googled natural inducers of labor and most of them cause contractions...which I don't have a problem with. I need some cervix ripening techniques. The only thing I found for that is some bow-chia-wow-wow with Josh and evening primrose oil. I guess I'll try those things.

In sleep news...last night sucked. LOL. Conner was up almost all night. I'm tired but he's not too grouchy. When he naps, I will too.

>Conner has always loved crayons but I don't always let him play with them because he has always wanted to eat them rather than draw or color with them...until now. He has finally decided that he will use them the correct way and he LOVES to color. He's pretty funny though because he does not want any paper wrappers on the crayons. He had Gigi take all of the paper off; of course she did. That's what Gigi does. They will sit for a good half hour and just color and talk about the crayons and the pictures. He's all business.







The other night, we had a huge thunder storm. It only lasted about a half hour but when it was over; we were in for a huge treat! There was not only one rainbow but two! I don't see double rainbows very often so I ran (waddled) back in the house to grab my camera. I didn't think that the photo had came out very well but when I uploaded it; it had. Today marks 38 weeks and it's the longest I've been pregnant. For Conner, we were already at home snuggling with our new baby. It's pretty weird. I think that first time mommas shouldn't deliver more than a week and a half early; it sets them up for some disappointment when number 2 takes his or her sweet time. I've been having lots and lots of contractions and they will get somewhat close together and then they stop. It's so frustrating. I just want to either go into labor or have the painful contractions stop.

Crayons, Rainbows and a Baby Belly

Conner has always loved crayons but I don't always let him play with them because he has always wanted to eat them rather than draw or color with them...until now. He has finally decided that he will use them the correct way and he LOVES to color. He's pretty funny though because he does not want any paper wrappers on the crayons. >We had a short visit to labor and delivery today. As I posted last week, my BP has been up and down and the pre-eclampsia panel was done as a precaution. I've been advised to look out for lots of signs of high BP. One of them (well 2) is headache and seeing spots (or stars). Today, I was sitting on the couch playing w/Conner and this hat when I had my own private sparkler show. I took my BP and it was 150/95. I laid down on my left side for a while and took it again. It was lower but still slightly elevated, so I called the on-call line. The nurse called me back and sent me straight to L&D to be monitored. She said that even if I had not taken my BP she would have sent me in. We got there and after I was admitted, they hooked the baby up to the monitors. His heart rate was fine (thank God) and started taking my BP every 10 minutes or so. After an hour (and a urine analysis), they told me I could go home. My BP had come down significantly. I guess since Parker is (clearly) not ready for me to see his face, he's just trying to make things exciting.
